Pastor Jonathan NeelyPastor Jonathan Neely

Blessed abundantly to be called a native Texan, Pastor Neely was raised under a church pew as a 4th generation Apostolic Pentecostal. As a young boy he felt the call into ministry. This was evident as he would preach to his granddad, Rev. Vernon Neely, in the living room with a little red hammer as his microphone. As the years went on his calling grew. He began his pursuit of ministry by attending Texas Bible College in Houston, Texas. Believing in a spirit of excellence, Pastor Neely feels that education is a lifelong continuous pursuit. He has earned an Associates Degree in Sociology and a Bachelor Degree from Florida Tech University in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management. He graduated at the top of his class - Cum Laude. He is pursuing an MBA in Business with plans to continue a second Masters of Divinity. In 1996 Pastor Neely began full time ministry as he assumed the position of Youth Pastor at Life Tabernacle UPC in Houston, Texas under the ministry of Reverend James L. Kilgore. In addition, he has served on the Texas and South Texas District Youth Boards and currently serves on the Texico District Youth Board. Pastor Neely has a burden for young people and believes that this generation has been chosen to impact the world. In 2000, Pastor Neely embarked on an evangelistic ministry that lasted for 4 years. He has traveled all over North America and the World. He has been to Asia, Europe, and the Middle East several times preaching and participating in Holy Ghost crusades. He has a fire and passion for global missions. His desire is to spread the gospel to every corner of the globe right here from Abilene, Texas. Pastor Neely feels the greatest blessing and joy in his life are his family. His wife, Valerie, serves as the Ladies Ministry director as well as the head of creative marketing and public relations for New Beginnings. She volunteers in her community and is active in a local women’s political organization all while successfully homeschooling their four children Morgan, Jonah, Molliegrace and Ellyson. Having a family of his own has made Pastor Neely realize that strong families make strong churches, and strong churches can reach the world. He is thankful for his own parents who always taught him to put God first, and today is instilling this same principle and value into not only his children, but also the church he pastors. Pastor Neely is excited that God has called him to the great city of Abilene and finds it an honor to be pastoring the same church that his granddad did 40 years ago. And to think, it all started with a little red, hammer microphone and a granddad that showed him how great life can be when you dedicate it to family and God.

Rev. Rodney Wilson

Licensed Minister, Assistant to the Pastor Men’s Ministry Director

Tired of the way life was going, Rodney began to bargain with God and told Him that if He moved him from the distractions in his life, he would sell out and live for Him. Soon after, he was uprooted and moved to Port Arthur, Texas only to never fulfill his promise. One night, as he stumbled upon the dark street, intoxicated, he heard an audible voice say…”It’s funny how we make promises to God and don’t keep them”. Immediately he ran home, opened his dusty Bible and began to dive into the book of Revelation. He wept and begged God to lead him to an Apostolic, truth believing church. Shortly after, he found himself yet again walking the streets, but this time in search for a church. He was led to a UPC church, and as he entered the doors the congregation stood amazed. For only a few minutes prior, they had been praying that the Lord would draw lost people off the streets and that they would walk in hungry. Today, Rodney is a man who follows God’s will and direction with absolute faith. He is a licensed minister with the UPC, active in ministry on a district level, and the Men’s Ministry Director at New Beginnings. He and his wife, Niesha, have a passion for lost souls and believe that holding them accountable is the key. Niesha also works with the Bible Quizzing team and loves watching young children put the word of God in their heart. Together, along with their six children, they make dynamic team and always seek to serve others in need.

Jared and Kristal Stevens

WOW Kids Ministry Directors

Both fourth generation Pentecostals and raised in pastor’s homes, Jared and Kristal Stevens are no stranger to ministry. As young adults they branched out on their own and soon realized that living for God wasn’t just about a family heritage or riding the past generation’s coat tail, but rather digging in and making their family’s religion only their own. The turning point for them was when they realized that being held accountable and digging into God’s word is how you begin to grow and know Him better. Both have impressive accolades which bring a great dynamic to the WOW Kid’s Ministry of New Beginnings. Jared is currently pursuing a degree and has been involved in ministry for over 10 years. His wife Kristal has a Bachelor of Science degree in Multi-Disciplinary Studies II from McMurry University and a Masters of Education in Counseling and Human Development from Hardin-Simmons University. She is certified in EC-4, 4-8, English Language Arts, Reading 8-12 and Special Ed EC-12. Together Jared and Kristal serve as the WOW Kid’s Ministry directors. As parents of two beautiful little girls, they are driven to see the next generation of children living for God and making it their own.

Judith Williams

Church Administrator, Pastoral Secretary

While handling national accounts in corporate America, Judith excelled in the fast passed business world. She was awarded many prestigious titles such as Employee of the Year, Upcoming Manager of the Year and Manager of the Year. Because of her impressive resume she was asked to take a lofty position in her thriving company only to turn it down to follow God’s will for her life. That path brought her to New Beginnings Church where she serves as the church administrator and Pastor Neely’s personal secretary. While her business portfolio is polished and impressive, her love for God and heart for ministry is even more remarkable. As a hurting teenager she faced many trials, and at times found herself alone with no one to trust. Her compassion for young people is driven by her promise to be a “safe place” and “sounding board” for a young and hurting generation. As a young adult she attended Texas Bible College. She has submerged herself in youth ministry, served on youth staff and worked with Hyphen for over 20 years. She has organized and participated in several oversees missions trips to Europe, Asia and Central America, as well as undertaken a special project to provide building supplies for churches in need in Costa Rica. She is an esteemed speaker and has spoken at youth functions and Ladies Conference.
